Our 50-acre manufacturing campus is headquartered in Calverton, New York, and supported by design and engineering offices in Manhattan, Boston, and Hartford. Our production capabilities, installation network, and bonding capacity allow Island to complete large-scale, complex projects in a timely, efficient manner.

Job Summary:

As a Jr. Material, Quality Control Inspector at IEF , you will be accountable for supporting the inspection and documentation of incoming materials. Working closely with experienced members of the team, the Material/Quality Control Inspector will learn how to physically inspect materials, identify and document observations, maintain accurate records, and communicate issues when materials do not appear to meet expected requirements.

Accountabilities:

Perform physical inspections of incoming materials delivered to the Island Facades manufacturing facility. Verify materials against applicable receiving information, documentation, and established inspection requirements. Carefully examine materials for visible damage, discrepancies, defects, or other conditions that should be documented or brought to the attention of the appropriate team member. Take clear photographs of material conditions and observations as part of the inspection and documentation process. Prepare accurate and organized inspection reports documenting findings, observations, and supporting photographs. Maintain organized records of material inspections and related documentation. Communicate inspection findings and potential material issues to the appropriate supervisor or team member. Follow established inspection procedures and learn Island Facades' quality and material-handling processes. Work closely with experienced team members to develop knowledge of materials, manufacturing operations, and façade production. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. No prior quality control, materials inspection, or manufacturing experience required. Recent high school graduates and candidates seeking their first full-time career opportunity are encouraged to apply. Strong attention to detail and ability to carefully observe and document conditions. Comfortable working in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software and documentation systems. Ability to take clear photographs and accurately document observations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Dependable, punctual, organized, and willing to learn. Must be willing and able to work on-site at Island Facades' Calverton, NY headquarters.

Salary Range:

$20.40 - $25.00/hourly

ADA Requirements:

The position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods while using a computer, along with sufficient manual dexterity to operate computers, mobile devices, and related IT equipment. The role may occasionally involve lifting or moving equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, as well as bending, crawling, or climbing-such as accessing under desks or server racks. Candidates must possess the ability to concentrate, troubleshoot, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills. The role also demands effective task prioritization, management of multiple simultaneous support requests, and a capacity to quickly learn and adapt to evolving technologies and tools.
