Full-time About Math4Sale Math4Sale has been America's trusted school calculator supplier since 2005. We sell new and factory-renewed TI graphing calculators through two channels: direct B2B to schools and districts nationwide, and Amazon. Small team, established business, loyal customer base. The Role We're hiring a General Manager to oversee daily operations and keep the machine running. The business works — your job is to make sure nothing slips, the team is executing, and both channels are healthy. You're not building from scratch. You're the person making sure inventory is moving, orders are shipping, the sales pipeline isn't stalling, and problems get solved before they become fires. This is a player-coach role at a small company. You'll manage people, but you'll also get into the work when gaps need filling. If you need layers of management between you and the actual operations, this isn't the right fit. AI is part of the job, not a nice-to-have. We use AI tools daily to manage operations — running numbers, auditing processes, spotting problems in data before they become real problems. You don't need to be a developer or prompt engineer, but you need to be someone who already uses AI in your workflow and sees it as a tool to move faster with a small team. If you're still doing everything manually or waiting for someone to build you a report, this isn't the right environment. What you'll oversee: Operations & Fulfillment Refurbishment, inspection, repackaging, inventory management, and shipping across both channels. Making sure what we promise (New, Open Box, Factory Renewed) is what ships. Coordinating FBA replenishment and bulk school orders. Keeping throughput consistent and QC tight. Amazon / E-Commerce Account health, listings, pricing, inventory levels, advertising performance, and margin monitoring. Maintaining Amazon Renewed compliance. You don't need to be an Amazon consultant, but you need to be comfortable in Seller Central and able to spot problems before they escalate. B2B School Sales Overseeing the sales team handling inbound quotes, PO processing, and outbound prospecting. Understanding school purchasing cycles — budget timing, back-to-school, PO workflows, tax-exempt orders. Making sure the pipeline moves and deals close. People & Culture Managing a small team across sales, operations, and fulfillment. You've hired people, fired people, and know the difference between someone who needs coaching and someone who needs to go. You understand that culture in a small company is set by what you tolerate and what you reward — not a handbook. You invest in growing people, give them ownership, and hold them accountable without micromanaging. Growth & R&D This isn't a maintenance-only role. We want someone who's excited to help grow the business — whether that's exploring new product lines, testing new channels, or tackling R&D projects. You should be energized by figuring out what's next, not just keeping what exists running. What we're looking for: Real management experience. Has built, led, and when necessary, restructured small teams. Understands how to empower people, develop them, and maintain a healthy culture without corporate overhead. Already uses AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) as part of daily work — to analyze data, draft communications, QC processes, or flag issues. Not experimenting with it. Using it. Experience managing operations for a physical product business. Understands inventory, margins, fulfillment, and what it takes to ship the right product on time. Working knowledge of Amazon Seller Central — account health, Buy Box, advertising basics, inventory management. Some exposure to B2B sales, ideally to schools, districts, government, or institutional buyers. If not that specifically, at least comfortable with PO-based purchasing and longer sales cycles. Willingness to learn the education market is fine. Comfortable with light manufacturing — refurbishment, inspection, repackaging, QC. This isn't a factory floor, but you need to care about process consistency. Wants to grow a business, not just manage one. Interested in R&D, new opportunities, and building something — not just maintaining the status quo.
A plus:
Background in sourcing and procurement. Knows how to find vendors, negotiate pricing, and manage supplier relationships. If you've negotiated costs down on physical goods and maintained quality, that's directly relevant here. What this role is
NOT:
A strategy-only seat. You'll be in the CRM, in Seller Central, and on calls with the team daily. A fully remote role. Hybrid means 2-3 days per week in our San Marcos office. Operations and fulfillment happen here. A startup. The business is established. You're keeping it running well and finding ways to grow it. A place to hide behind process. If you manage by scheduling meetings and sending status update requests, you won't last here.
Compensation:
Base salary plus a performance bonus tied to operational and revenue targets. Total on-target earnings between $120,000 and $150,000 depending on experience.
To Apply:
Please include GM0827 in your application title and a short paragraph answering the question: What's one thing you built or improved at a previous company that didn't exist before you got there? What was the result? We look forward to working with you.
