Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll and Accounting Specialist to oversee accurate and timely payroll operations for a mid-sized workforce in California. This role is ideal for someone who is confident managing end-to-end payroll across multiple states, maintaining compliance, and supporting employees with payroll-related questions. The position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.

Responsibilities:

+ Process biweekly payroll for 160+ employees, including timesheets, stipends, garnishments, and compliance with California labor laws.

+ Administer CalSTRS reporting, benefits enrollment, and contribution payments.

+ Handle accounts payable, employee reimbursements, and payroll-related journal entries in Sage Intacct.

+ Reconcile payroll balance sheet accounts and assist with month-end accruals.

+ Collaborate with HR to maintain employee records and produce workforce reports. Requirements + 3+ years of full-cycle California payroll experience for 150+ employees.

+ Working knowledge of payroll accounting, AP, and general ledger functions; UKG and Sage Intacct preferred.

+ Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.

+ Strong understanding of California payroll regulations and CalSTRS reporting.

+ High school diploma required; accounting or business degree preferred.
