Production & Sandblasting Support Technician Full Spectrum Powder Coating Position:

Position Summary Full Spectrum Powder Coating is seeking a dependable, hardworking Production & Sandblasting Support Technician to join our production team. The primary purpose of this position is to support our sandblasting operation and keep production moving efficiently throughout the shop . This employee will work closely with our sandblaster by staging material, loading and unloading the blast room, handling abrasive media, moving completed parts, and performing other tasks that allow the sandblaster to spend as much time as possible actively blasting. When sandblasting support is not needed, this position will assist other areas of powder coating production, including preparation, masking, hanging, cleaning, material handling, packaging, and general shop duties. This is a hands-on, physical position and is ideal for someone who likes staying busy, working with their hands, and being part of a production environment. Primary ResponsibilitiesSandblasting Support Stage upcoming jobs so material is ready when the blast room becomes available. Load and unload parts from the blast room. Assist with moving, positioning, and handling large or heavy parts. Move blasted material promptly to the next stage of production. Shovel, recover, screen, and replenish abrasive media as needed. Keep the blast room and surrounding work areas clean and organized. Assist with routine blast equipment and abrasive-media maintenance. Prepare the next job while the current job is being blasted. Minimize downtime between jobs by keeping material, equipment, and supplies ready. Learn proper abrasive blasting procedures and eventually cross-train as a backup sandblaster. General Production Support When sandblasting assistance is not required, responsibilities may include: Masking and plugging parts before powder coating. Hanging and racking parts. Cleaning and preparing metal surfaces. Moving material between production areas. Loading and unloading racks and carts. Assisting with oven loading and unloading. Inspecting and organizing parts. Packaging completed orders. Maintaining clean and organized production areas. Receiving and staging incoming material. Assisting other production employees as needed to keep jobs moving through the shop. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Dependable and punctual. Comfortable performing physically demanding work. Able to work efficiently without constant supervision. Willing to learn multiple areas of the powder coating process. Able to recognize what needs to be done next and take initiative. Comfortable working in an industrial/manufacturing environment. Safety-conscious. Organized and able to keep multiple jobs separated and properly identified. Willing to work as part of a team and help wherever production needs it most. Previous powder coating, sandblasting, metal finishing, fabrication, manufacturing, or warehouse experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate . Physical Requirements This position regularly requires: Standing and walking for extended periods. Bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movement. Lifting and carrying parts, supplies, and abrasive media. Working around metal parts and industrial production equipment. Working in dusty, noisy, and warm environments while using appropriate PPE. Safely handling parts of varying sizes and weights. Team lifting and material-handling equipment should be used for loads that cannot be safely handled by one person. Safety Responsibilities All employees are expected to: Follow company safety procedures at all times. Properly use required PPE. Follow safe lifting and material-handling procedures. Keep aisles and work areas clean and free of hazards. Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or potential hazards. Follow all training and procedures when working around blasting, compressed air, ovens, powder coating equipment, and other production machinery. How Success Will Be Measured This position isn't simply a general shop helper. Its primary objective is to increase production throughput by reducing non-blasting downtime and keeping work moving through the shop.

Successful performance includes:

Keeping the sandblaster supplied with ready-to-process work. Reducing time the sandblaster spends loading, unloading, shoveling, cleaning, and moving material. Reducing downtime between blast jobs. Maintaining an organized flow of parts from blasting into prep. Helping prevent production employees from waiting on material. Increasing weekly blast-room throughput without sacrificing quality or safety. Becoming cross-trained in additional production processes over time. Growth Opportunity The employee will have the opportunity to learn multiple aspects of the powder coating process. A successful employee may be cross-trained in abrasive blasting, preparation, masking, hanging, powder coating support, quality control, and other production operations .
