Barnes Lake Veterinary Center is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team. We are a busy, established veterinary practice seeking someone who can take ownership of our day-to-day accounting functions and help ensure our financial records remain accurate, organized, and up to date. This is a great opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper or accounting professional looking for a consistent part-time position with flexibility in scheduling. Bookkeeping and/or accounting experience is required, and previous experience managing the books or providing accounting services for an animal hospital or veterinary clinic is a plus.

What You'll Be Doing:

Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and third-party financial accounts and services Maintain the general ledger in QuickBooks Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheets Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable Handle payroll-related accounting and reconciliation Reconcile physical inventory with accounting records and help ensure accurate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) Review financial transactions for accuracy and identify and resolve discrepancies Work collaboratively with practice management and ownership to maintain accurate and organized financial records Assist with additional bookkeeping and accounting needs as they arise

What We're Looking For:

Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and follow tasks through to completion Professional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with our team Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial, payroll, employee, and business information Experience with veterinary practice-management software is helpful but not required

Schedule & Compensation:

Approximately 20 hours per week Monday-Friday scheduling with flexibility in how hours are arranged Position will initially be on-site at Barnes Lake Veterinary Center Following successful completion of the probationary period, a hybrid work arrangement may be considered based on the needs of the practice and the position $30/hour, based on experience
