Entry Purpose of Role The Janitor / Maintenance / Warehouse role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the production area, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for all employees, while also supporting warehouse operations such as receiving, storing, and moving goods. This role contributes directly to operational efficiency and safety by keeping the production area clean and organized and by ensuring materials and finished goods are handled, stored, and tracked properly within the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities Cleaning and Maintenance Cleaning and Maintenance:

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste disposal to maintain a clean and safe environment. Equipment MaintenanceEnsure all cleaning equipment is in good working condition and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.

Driving Duties:

Occasionally drive company vehicles to pick up and deliver garments as required.

Warehouse Responsibilities Receiving Goods:

Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities against packing slips/purchase orders, and inspect items for damage or discrepancies.

Storage and Organization:

Store materials, supplies, and finished goods in designated locations, maintaining an organized, labeled, and accessible warehouse layout.

Loading and Unloading:

Load and unload trucks and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently, using proper lifting techniques and equipment.

Inventory Support:

Assist with cycle counts and inventory checks, and report stock discrepancies or shortages to the supervisor.

Order Picking and Packing:

Pick, pack, and stage items for shipment or production use according to work orders or pick lists.

Material Handling Equipment:

Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and (where certified) forklifts to move materials within the warehouse.

Warehouse Housekeeping:

Keep aisles, loading docks, and storage areas clean, clear of obstructions, and compliant with safety standards.

Safety Compliance:

Follow all warehouse safety protocols, including proper stacking, PPE use, and safe handling of materials and equipment.

Performance Expectations Cleanliness Standards:

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of responsibility.

Timeliness:

Complete all assigned tasks within the scheduled time frame.

Inventory Accuracy:

Support accurate inventory records through careful receiving, storage, and picking practices.

Safety:

Adhere to all workplace and warehouse safety procedures at all times. Required Skills and Competencies Technical Skills Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies. Familiarity with basic warehouse equipment (hand trucks, pallet jacks) and inventory practices. Soft Skills Positive attitude and ability to work independently. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Attention to detail, particularly when handling inventory and materials.

Qualifications Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Previous experience in janitorial, maintenance, or warehouse roles in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications:

Valid driver's license for driving duties; forklift certification is a plus or may be provided through training. Working Conditions This role is based in the production area and warehouse, with standard working hours. Occasional night driving may be required. Work may involve prolonged standing, walking, and lifting of moderate to heavy items (up to approximately 50 lbs), as well as exposure to warehouse conditions such as variable temperatures and dust.
