Customer Service RepresentativePosition Summary The Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact between the company and its customers, ensuring customer requirements are accurately communicated, scheduled, and fulfilled. This role supports the Materials and Production teams by managing customer releases, coordinating shipments, monitoring delivery performance, and responding to changing customer demands to achieve on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. Essential ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Communication Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments. Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding orders, shipments, delivery schedules, and product availability. Notify customers of delayed, missed, or short shipments and provide timely updates on corrective actions. Manage customer-driven communication systems and requirements, including EDDL, WEB-EDI, Visteon DDL, and other customer portals. Assist with incoming telephone calls and provide support to the main operator as needed. Scheduling & Production Support Monitor customer releases and production schedules to ensure all requirements are fulfilled and shipped on time. Enter and maintain customer releases within the ERP/MRP system and resolve release discrepancies or cumulative quantity issues. Coordinate production requirements with Manufacturing, Quality, Shipping/Receiving, Purchasing, and Supervisory personnel. Respond effectively to schedule changes resulting from production adjustments, quality concerns, delivery issues, or customer demand fluctuations. Maintain premium freight records and support corrective actions to minimize expedited shipments. Logistics & Materials Management Support shipping and receiving operations and serve as backup for the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor during absences. Ensure compliance with customer shipping requirements and monitor delivery performance metrics. Assist in ordering plant supplies and materials as a backup to Purchasing personnel. Coordinate
NAFTA/USMCA
documentation and other customer-specific compliance requirements. Continuous Improvement & Compliance Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities related to customer concerns and delivery issues. Support company initiatives aimed at achieving customer awards and maintaining quality system certifications, including
IATF 16949.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting related to customer requirements and shipping activities. Follow all company policies, quality standards, and OSHA safety regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Be available for customer expedite situations outside normal business hours as required. Perform additional duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Three to five years of customer service, materials planning, scheduling, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of customer releases, scheduling, and inventory control processes. Experience with EDI systems and customer-specific electronic communication requirements. Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally. Ability to work within a manufacturing and industrial environment. Working Conditions Regular exposure to a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment. Occasional exposure to heat, vibration, and varying production conditions. Moderate noise levels are typical. Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety guidelines. Loose-fitting clothing or items that may pose a safety risk around machinery are prohibited. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
