Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Band Saw Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating band saw machines to accurately cut metal and other materials according to technical specifications. Your expertise will ensure precise, efficient, and safe production processes, contributing directly to the quality of our finished products. Responsibilities Set up and operate band saw machines to cut various metals and materials based on detailed technical drawings and blueprints. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine cutting dimensions and angles. Ensure proper machine operation by adjusting blade tension, feed rates, and cutting speeds according to material type and thickness. Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy of cut parts. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety standards in production and following safety protocol procedures at all times. Perform routine maintenance on band saw equipment, including blade changes, lubrication, and troubleshooting mechanical issues. Collaborate with team members on machine setup, tooling adjustments, and process improvements to optimize efficiency and precision. Qualifications Proven experience operating band saws or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and shop math accurately. Familiarity with CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations, and other machining tools is a plus. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges for quality control purposes. Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during machining processes. Experience with welding, forming machines, press brake machines, stamping presses or electrical discharge machining (EDM) is advantageous but not mandatory. Mechanical aptitude combined with hands-on experience operating shop tools like hand tools and forming machines. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality inspection and measurement accuracy. Pay:
$17.50 - $22.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
